Star Gazing on Exmoor

Star Gazing on Exmoor

Exmoor National Park is Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve

Heale under the Stars Retreat
In darkness, stars shine most brightly

We love walking out at night to put all the animals to bed and just stare up at the night sky, we do not know too much about stars but we know just how mesmerising and wonderful they are and what a privilege to be in a dark sky reserve. During April this year the skies were stunning and we are hoping this autumn will be equally as clear and special. We are now training with Exmoor National Park to understand a little more about Star gazing to become a Dark Sky Friendly Business making your Heale Farm cottage and garden star gazing experience even more spectacular. We will keep you updated!

Take the time on Exmoor to look up

The dark skies have, through many lifetimes, helped us to form a sense of who we are and has an incredible force helping us to put our lives in perspective. The constant and predicable day to night, with the stars in their place in the universe allows us to keep a pattern and rhythm in our lives. With the constant changes in our daily routines and the increase of light pollution, tv, mobile devices and the uncertainty of the world we live in, it is now more vital than ever to connect with this constant for our very existence. Take time to stop and look up into the night sky, just to remind yourself that, we are, in the scheme of things only a very small part of a much greater whole. Take the time on Exmoor to look up, stare at the wonder of the dark skies and remember in darkness, stars shine most brightly.
