Some kind words from our guests who have stayed in The Bothy
This was our second stay at the bothy and it was just as great as the first time. It’s a great little place in a quiet location. Lots of lovely local pubs for eating out (we loved The Pyne Arms and The Black Venus), and if you’re eating in, the kitchen is well equipped.

The place is really dog friendly, we had our 8 month old puppy with us, and the enclosed garden was perfect for having the doors open and letting her do her own thing.
Judith and Dean are really good hosts, they provide loads of information about the area, walks and pubs etc. And are very responsive with messages/emails.
Highly recommend!Perfect if you’re looking to escape the world in comfort. The pictures sold us on this place but even they dont quite do it justice. I wasn’t quite prepared for how nice it was, and the main living area was about twice the size I was expecting.

Plenty of nights were spent in front of the fire with the dog and plenty of bbq’s were had in the garden.
There’s literally nothing around so its incredibly peaceful, but on the flip side you will need to drive if you want to go anywhere. Heddon Valley is definitely walkable, but its a brutal hill on the way back! If you’ve ever been to this part of the world though you probably already know its got some killer hills. All in all, we got exactly what we came here for, peace and quiet, and proximity to the coast for some lovely dog walks. read lessWe had a wonderful stay at The Bothy. Beautiful property exactly as described and more spacious than the pictures suggest. The property is located in the most stunning rural area of North Devon. Perfect for some gorgeous long walks with our very energetic Labrador but also under 30 minutes drive to the coast and the award winning Woolacombe Bay which is just stunning. Judith was the perfect host, very welcoming and on hand to answer any questions but equally allows you the space to enjoy your stay in peace.

Thank you for allowing some frazzled Londoners to escape the rat race for a week in the countryside
We would love to return one day soonWe had such a lovely time at The Bothy. The place was super comfortable with a fire and a kitchen where we were able to cook simple meals if we wanted a lazy night in. It was lovely having our own private garden and the place was so peaceful and quiet. You couldn’t hear anything in the morning. We enjoyed visiting Combe Martin, Lyton and Lynmouth nearby.

We also took a trip to a Clovelly which is worth the visit!
We also loved how pet friendly the place was with the dog box full of towels, poo bags and bowls etc.
Judith and Dean were fantastic hosts and we’d love to stay again. Thank you for having us!Bothy Cottage and Heale Farm were everything they advertised themselves as and more!

The farm is in a beautiful location, quiet and quaint. The hosts have provided everything you could need for your stay; from kitchen ware to Sky TV to doggy extras and everything in between.
We had a lovely walk down to Hunters Inn pub and then on to Heddons Mouth cove; be warned to wear good footwear if you walk from the farm so you are comfortable.
We visited local beaches, which were only a short drive away, Combe Martin and Woolacombe to name two.
The closest shop for essentials is the petrol station as you enter Lynton; it’s more than a petrol station with fresh bread, warm pasties and your general everyday needs.
My puppy Bruce enjoyed himself too in the garden which is safely enclosed for him.
Thanks to our hosts, we will be back xThank you Judith and Dean for the most pleasant of stays in The Bothy. Thank you for the eggs and use of the washing machine.

Everything was really great and as seen in the photos – the Bothy was very well equipped and comfortable for our two week stay.
We walked to Heddon’s Mouth from Heale, a few times which is stunning and highly recommended. The Bothy is situated in a lovely tranquil area with many local walks straight from the door. The bijou accommodation is both stylish and comfortable with a secluded garden complete with a trickling stream running through it.

The hosts Judith and Dean are friendly and helpful, readily available if needed.A perfect North Devon stay in a beautiful location. The Bothy is well equipped, welcoming and very peaceful. We particularly loved the garden and fire bowl!

Really good location for walking with access to footpaths from the farm or a short drive to the beaches and popular sites of north Devon.

The garden, with its flowers and bubbling stream, is perfectly tranquil and an ideal spot for a cup of tea with a book.
We loved exploring Exmoor and the beautiful North Devon coast by day and coming home to a glass of wine beside the fire pit. Lovely walks are available directly from the front door and I particularly enjoyed a morning run taking in views of the Heddon Valley and a spectacular stretch of the coast path.
We brought our dog along too, which was important to us. He had the time of his life on the beach and was made to feel very welcome. We had such a great stay! The Bothy was well equipped with everything we needed. It was really clean and comfortable and we loved the little garden for breakfast in the sun, BBQs and fire pits followed by star gazing. There are some beautiful walks right from the farm and it’s only a short drive to get to the surrounding beaches. Judith and Dean were super friendly and helpful, and being able to pre-order some locally sourced essentials was great. We’ll definitely be back again!
