The Bothy

King sized bed (sleeps 2) Separate shower room Kitchen Sitting room Private garden

Our cosy little rustic barn, surrounded by natural streams, wild flowers, trees and wildlife offers a tranquil and romantic self-catering retreat, perfect for couples and dog friendly too. Only a few miles from the Heddon Valley and the North Devon Coast, the cottage is ideally located to make the most of scenic walks from the door, short drives to stunning beaches, restaurants and pubs. Whether it’s sampling the delights of Exmoor and its glorious food fest, stargazing the clear dark skies or simply snuggling in front of a roaring log burning stove after a day of walking or surfing, our little barn is the perfect self-catering retreat.

The Bothy is full of rustic charm and beauty, nestled in a peaceful and private corner of our farm. Rustic-chic open-plan interior with sumptuous king size bed, dining and living area all beautifully flowing and refurbished in 2020 with calming natural colours. Two steps separate the small but well equipped kitchen and separate shower room. Wood floors make it ideal to kick off walking boots and rub down muddy paws. Retaining original stone walls and features, it will be impossible not to fall in love with the simplistic essence and charm of this little barn. Snuggle into the sofa in front of the log burning stove after a day exploring and relax in peaceful harmony with nature.

Double doors open onto a small private garden, outdoor seating area amongst the wild flowers, table and chairs and fire pit for warm summer evenings or huddled up outdoors in cooler weather gazing at the stars. Natural streams and gentle waterfall flow through the garden creating a haven for wildlife. Wake up to the sound of birds and our own chickens preparing eggs for breakfast.

What are we doing to ensure you have a great and most importantly safe stay at Heale Farm. We are very excited to now at last be able to open our holiday barn accommodation and your safety is our biggest priority. We would like to reassure you we have made considerable changes to the way we will operate in response to the government guidelines published in June and responding accordingly as they update.

Some kind words from our guests

Having now stayed a few times in The Bothy at Heale Farm there are so many reasons to keep coming back. The opportunity to step-away from everyday life, sit back, relax, enjoy the sounds, smells and beauty of all the surroundings are just a few. It’s a complete relaxation break away from home. Great for walks, seaside visits or just to take some time out and read a book in peace and quiet.
We can’t recommend a stay at Heale Farm highly enough and Judith and Dean are the perfect hosts.
Go ahead, book your stay – though leave some dates for us please 😀

Just returned home from a sunny long weekend at Heale Farm and we are already suffering from holiday blues! Can we come back already please?!😀
The Roundhouse is perfect, fully equipped with everything you need. Beautiful interior, spotlessly clean and a very cosy feel! Judith and Dean go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. Superb hosts!
The location of Heale Farm is idillic. We walked from Heale Farm to Lynmouth, along a beautiful coastal path. We have posted some pics below of the walk, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We can’t wait to come back and explore some more!
Judith and Dean made us feel so at home during our stay and we highly recommend staying at Heale Farm! We will definitely be rebooking for Autumn/Winter! Thank you so much!

Last week my husband and I stayed in the Round House at Heale Farm and I must say what a stunning place it was. You know when you visit a new place and there’s always a touch of apprehension as to whether it’s going to he as good as it shows on the internet. Well, fear not as it’s fabulous.
Everywhere was exceptionally clean and what an extremely comfy bed!
The Round House has been fitted out to a very high standard. There are plenty of kitchen utensils should you need.
Each morning we were able to watch Roger and Shalinda, the horses, being set free in the field opposite our bedroom window.
If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and away from it all then this is definitely the place for you.
We have already recommended Heale Farm to family and friends.
Thank you Judith and Dean.
